Aaron Cohn RYDC Holds Employee Appreciation Week

Recently, Aaron Cohn Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) organized an Employee Appreciation Week to celebrate the staff’s hard work and dedication during the previous year. Facility leadership hosted several events for the employees throughout the week as a way of saying thank you to the officers, administrators, teachers, food service workers, housekeeping and maintenance staff for their part in serving the youth in the facility.

On Monday, Aaron Cohn RYDC staff members were treated to refreshments including chips and cookies while enjoying an hour of socializing with their coworkers. Staff enjoyed a cookout on Wednesday with hotdogs and hamburgers and an afternoon with games. During both events, staff members received employee appreciation t-shirts and certificates and a gift card was also raffled off to one lucky employee. On the final day of the Appreciation Week, lunch was catered with several staff members receiving gift cards as recognition for going above and beyond in their work duties.

“I have been working for DJJ for over 20 years and the staff at Aaron Cohn RYDC are some of the most dedicated and hardworking I have ever worked with in my career. We work together as a team in a family-like atmosphere and do whatever it takes to get the job done,” said Roderick Haugabook, Associate Director of Operations at Aaron Cohn RYDC. “The staff really care about the youth and each other and it is a joy to come to work every day.”
