Office of Human Resources

The Office of Human Resources supports the strategic goals and mission of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) by monitoring workforce trends and proposing initiatives to address challenges to DJJ Team performance. The Office of Human Resources' mission is to attract, develop, and retain a diverse Department of Juvenile Justice workforce. Human Resources attends to the daily processes of the agency workforce, including recruitment and retention, background checks, appropriate compensation and benefits, EEO compliance, timekeeping, and absence management.

Office of Technology and Information Services

Our mission is to leverage innovative technology to enhance the safety, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities for all individuals within our juvenile corrections system. We are committed to providing secure, reliable, and efficient IT services that support the agency's goals of fostering positive behavioral change and preparing youth for successful reintegration into society. Through collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement, we aim to empower staff and youth with the tools and resources necessary to create a safer, more supportive, and technologically advanced environment.

Office of Real Estate Management and Building Services

The Office of Real Estate Management and Building Services manages 86 real estate properties leased by the agency, primarily for the Division of Community Services. The Real Estate team also serves as the Department's liaison with the State Properties Commission of Georgia to manage DJJ's real estate leases, renegotiations, renewals, relocations, and landlord issues. In addition, the Building Services team oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of DJJ's Central Office, including mailroom services and front desk operations.

Office of Grants and Strategic Planning

The Office of Grants serves to ensure that State and Federal grant funds are administered in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, EDGAR, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars, and specific grant terms and conditions. Additionally, the Office of Grants oversees the financial allocation and administration of a wide range of grant projects designed to promote greater accountability of youth and provide treatment services to the juveniles in the care of DJJ.

Additionally, Strategic Planning is the agency's centralized data monitor for performance metrics, operational planning and business continuity. The unit also provides annual strategic planning reports to the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget.

Office of Engineering

The Engineering and Construction team's mission is to address the needs outlined in DJJ's strategic plan for growth and development and its challenges by meeting the maintenance and repair needs in the agency's aging facilities.

Office of Assets and Property Management

The Office of Assets and Property Management's mission is to establish operational procedures to account for agency assets. The Department of Juvenile Justice currently has approximately 46,500 total assets consisting of state-owned assets, leased computers and vehicles, state-owned vehicles and an assortment of office furnishings.

Project Management Office

The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Project Management Office (PMO) supports DJJ executives, stakeholders and customers by ensuring valuable project benefits. 

  • Strategically: the PMO collaborates with the executive team and key stakeholders to ensure the suitable projects are selected and prioritized, that they align with agency strategies and goals, and that those projects can be appropriately funded and resourced for the best chance of success. 
  • Operationally: the PMO is responsible for complete project lifecycle management – planning to implementation – including reporting, organizational change management, support planning, and communication.
  • Tactically: the DJJ PMO serves as the central point for implementing best practices, templates, tools and lessons learned. DJJ's PMO also provides training, coaching, mentoring, and guidance on projects outside the DJJ PMO purview.
