The Division of Professional Development and Standards (OPDS) manages the Division of Professional Development, Office of Compliance, Office of Victim and Volunteer Services, and the Emergency Management Unit.

The Division of Professional Development and Standards (OPDS) manages the Division of Professional Development, Office of Compliance, Office of Victim and Volunteer Services, and the Emergency Management Unit. 

The Division of Professional Development provides training programs supporting the Department's mission to enhance staff and partners' safety, security, and skills. The division is responsible for training nearly all the agency's full and part-time staff, including Georgia POST­ certified Juvenile Correctional Officers (JCOs), Juvenile Probation Officers (JPOs), Post-certified Juvenile Probation Parole Specialists (JPPSs), Teachers, Medical and Mental Health Professionals, Food Service Workers, Custodial Workers, and Administrative Staff.

Division of Professional Development

The mission of the Division of Professional Development is to provide effective basic and specialized training programs in support of the agency mission; effectively enhancing the safety, security and skills of our DJJ colleagues and partners.

Office of Victim Services

The Office of Victim Services will deliver with compassion, a continuum of comprehensive services that promote victims' rights and supports statewide victim services programs through the delivery of timely, accurate and informative services.

Office of Volunteer Services

The DJJ Volunteer Services Program Mission is to recruit, retain and promote volunteers dedicated to providing an array of DJJ youth services. The volunteers will help motivate and empower our youth to become productive and law-abiding citizens in their communities.
