DJJ and Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Aaron Cohn RYDC Survivors’ Luncheon

During October, the Department of Juvenile Justice has highlighted the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Recently, staff members at Aaron Cohn Regional Youth Detention Center in Columbus hosted a luncheon for breast cancer survivors in the community. Facility Director Mario Mitchell and Volunteer Resource Coordinator Ornessa Jones-Collins invited breast cancer survivors to share their experiences and discuss breast cancer prevention. Aaron Cohn staff were also encouraged to wear pink to show their support for those who are survivors or currently battling breast cancer.
