Wilkes RYDC Hosts Mother’s Day Celebration: A Mother’s Love

Recently, Wilkes Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) held a thoughtful Mother’s Day celebration. Youths invited their mothers and grandmothers for a special afternoon visitation to honor them for all that they do. To show their appreciation for the maternal figures in their lives, each youth recited a poem or a letter they had written. The youths also presented their guests with flowers and an Avon gift bag.

For the rest of the afternoon, mothers, grandmothers and their loved ones enjoyed working on arts and crafts projects and snacking on delicious refreshments. Youths had a great time and were glad to have the opportunity to celebrate the special women in their lives.
