Bob Richards RYDC: Employees of the Year

The Bob Richards Regional Youth Detention Center (Bob Richards RYDC) in Rome is pleased to announce that it has named Lieutenant Darius Hall as its 2017 Security Employee of the Year and Food Services Supervisor Vernon Buchanan as its 2017 Support Employee of the Year.
The Bob Richards RYDC Employee of the Year for the security and support staff is selected from employees recognized in previous quarters. Winning staff members are nominated by their supervisors and co-workers for providing service above and beyond the call of duty, actively supporting the facility leadership and mission, consistently doing outstanding work, lending a helping hand at all times, being known for exceptional customer service and serving as a positive role model for staff and youth alike.
The 2017 Security Employees of the Quarter were Officer Austin Ball, Intake Supervisor Cecelia Clemmons, Lieutenant Darius Hall and Sergeant Desmond Dunbar. The 2017 Support Employees of the Quarter were Mrs. Maeretha Alexander, Mr. Vernon Buchanan, Mrs. Valerie Allen and Mrs. Amanda Roper.
Lieutenant Darius Hall began working at the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in June 2014. He quickly established himself as a solid leader with excellent attendance. Lieutenant Hall takes great pride in the facility, seeks to build teamwork and seeks to build others up even when mistakes are made.
Vernon Buchanan began working at DJJ in August 2003. He is well known for his integrity, support of all staff and for being respectful and friendly at all times. He also serves as an excellent mentor for youth at the facility and is always ready to help when needed.
The Department of Juvenile Justice and Bob Richards RYDC are proud to recognize the hard work and success of Lieutenant Hall and Mr. Buchanan.
