District Eight News: Muscogee MSC Thanksgiving Project

Recently, the DJJ Southwest Region/District Eight office along with the Muscogee Intake/Community Services Office and the Muscogee Multi-Service Office joined together for their annual Thanksgiving Meal for local citizens in need in and around Columbus. Launched several years ago by retired DJJ staff member Rodney Lawrence, the Thanksgiving Meal was a way for current and former local DJJ staff members to come together in fellowship to help the less fortunate in the area. From the donation of funds to the preparation of food boxes, staff members work hard for the worthy cause of making sure that everyone can enjoy and celebrate the holidays.

This year, staff members were able to give away nearly 65 meals to local area residents. DJJ thanks all those who participated for their generosity of spirit and time.
