Inspire For A Lifetime

Welcome to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Volunteer Program. DJJ is grateful for its many volunteers who play a vital role in improving the lives of justice-involved youth in our facilities and communities. The Volunteer Services Program is responsible for recruiting and screening potential volunteers, as well as providing them with orientation and training. Volunteers with DJJ serve in various capacities across all Regional Youth Detention Centers (RYDCs), Youth Detention Centers (YDCs), and Community Services Offices (CSOs) throughout Georgia.

Volunteer Program Purpose

The purpose of the DJJ Volunteer Services Program is to recruit, retain, and promote volunteers who are committed to supporting youth through meaningful services that inspire growth and positive change. Volunteers play a vital role in motivating and empowering young individuals to become productive, law-abiding members of their communities. Guided by the department’s philosophy, the program seeks to expand opportunities that enrich the lives of youth while fostering a lifelong commitment to service through volunteerism.
