Scotty Hancock is a lifelong resident of Floyd County and a graduate of Pepperell High School.  He holds an associate degree from Floyd College, where he was an honor graduate, and a Bachelor of Science in Management, where he graduated cum laude, and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Shorter University.  Commissioner Hancock is a veteran, he served seven years in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division.  He has served on the Floyd County Board of Commissioners for 10 years and has held the position of Chairman and Vice-Chair for 4 of those 10 years.  He is currently employed at AdventHealth Redmond as the Director of Business Development for the Georgia Market. He also serves as an adjutant professor at Shorter University. He and his wife, Ronda have three children, Bethany, Gatlin, Mylee and a 1-year-old grandson Brook’s.

Commissioner Hancock currently represents the Board of Commissioners as the Chair of the Floyd County Public Safety Committee, Floyd County Department of Family and Children Services Board, Chair of the Alcohol Control Commission, Rome-Floyd Commission on Children & Youth, Rome-Floyd SPLOST Overview, Rome-Floyd Fire Overview, and serves as alternate on the elected Officials Committee.  He also serves on the NAMI of Rome Board of Directors and the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia Board of Directors.
