Pamela Hill
Assistant Commissioner/Chief of Staff
Mrs. Pamela Hill brings more than 25 years of invaluable experience to her new role. Mrs. Hill's journey with DJJ began in 1998 when she began her career as a Juvenile Correctional Officer at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. Since then, she has ascended through the ranks, holding various positions, including JCO, JCO II, Lieutenant, Assistant Director, and Director at multiple facilities throughout the state, including Metro RYDC, DJJ's largest detention facility.
She has also held various roles, including Program Coordinator, Regional Administrator, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, and, most recently, Deputy Commissioner. As Deputy Commissioner, she oversaw the operational aspects of DJJ secure facilities, ensuring the effective management of 25 secure facilities where more than 1,200 youth are served daily.
Her leadership skills and dedication to juvenile justice have been recognized both within the agency and the broader community. Mrs. Hill has held pivotal roles, including President of the Georgia Juvenile Services Association (GJSA) and Commissioner of Accreditation with the American Correctional Association (ACA), showcasing her commitment to advancing the field.
Complementing her extensive professional experience, Mrs. Hill is a distinguished academic, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree from Georgia State University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Troy University, with a concentration in Public Management.
As Assistant Commissioner and Chief of Staff, Mrs. Pamela Hill is committed to leveraging her skills, experience, and unwavering dedication to support and elevate the remarkable staff of the Department of Juvenile Justice, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to succeed in their vital mission. She will continue to drive positive change within DJJ, ensuring the safety, rehabilitation, and well-being of the young people we serve.
