Wrap-Around/Community-Based Services
Wrap-Around/Community-Based services are designed to assist the youth and the family in a community-based setting. These settings can be in the youth’s home, school, or other community locations. The services are designed to meet the goals set by DJJ, the youth, and the family. These services include:
- Are available when families need them, including after-school, in the evenings or on the weekends.
- Emphasize treatment models that address issues and enhance positive behaviors through participation in purposeful activities giving the youth and family an opportunity to practice life skills and positive choices.
The Department of Juvenile Justice currently has four Operations Support Managers who are assigned to four regions. They focus on supporting DJJ and their assigned Wrap-Around/Community-Based Services Providers by the following:
- Holding providers accountable for the care of children through monitoring and inspections of services
- Developing, measuring and enforcing provider contract deliverables
- Mediating provider concerns
- Assisting Providers with on-going training needs for serving DJJ youth
