Office of Professional Development & Standards

The Office of Professional Development & Standards provides leadership to correctional staff in all phases of emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.  The Office of Planning & Preparedness is DJJ's primary point of contact with the Georgia Emergency Management Homeland Security Agency (GEMHSA).

The Office oversees Emergency Management, Office of Professional Development and Standards, Office of Victim/Volunteer Services and ACA Accreditation.

'Safety and Security' are considered Priority Number One at the Department of Juvenile Justice.  The primary duties of the Office of Professional Development and Standards are to maintain the safety of DJJ youth and staff and to ensure that staff members remain confident in times of natural or man-made emergencies.
